“The citizen has a sacred job. A free life depends on skepticism.” My favorite line!

Carlos's avatar

Yes, that quote is accurate - but it points to something that most of us don't get - being an armchair skeptic doesn't really help anything. If we don't ACT on what we know, then things will get much worse: Knowledge without action is the most trivial pursuit there is ( and a danger to oneself and the public: see Covid lockdowns and group think for most recent examples).

For sure.

I agree completely, and I do act, but I’m curious what acting/doing means to you. I’m genuinely curious because I’m old enough to know no matter how much we citizens do, it’s not heard or taken into account by anyone in charge. I’m just glad I’m on the downhill of this life, headed to glory.

Aaron Everitt’s highly insightful writings are an excellent addition to HiH. This column is a prime example. Thank you Jessica!

I'm so happy you think so too! Aaron is someone who loves the art of journalism the way I wish more people did. I think he's a solid addition to many topics.

This is a fantastic piece. We really lost out when Vinay left. I heard Commissioner Makary say he was in talks to bring him back and we should all fully support that. I also have called Ron Johnson's office because it's inexcusable that he would allow himself to be used in this way to persuade the White House that Vinay needed to go. Vinay is a bright shining light in medicine and research. He has respect because he is brilliant, consistent, and non-ideological. We should all be on alert for those who prey on the vulnerable and there is no one more vulnerable than families with sick children. Sarepta has preyed on them but also has a drug that kills them-this is inexcusable and Loomer has manipulated the White House and public into allowing their death drug at 3.2 mil a dose to be available. God have mercy on those that allow this.

One of Aaron's best pieces ever - and I've been a supporter of his for years. And Laura Loomer is 100% Israel first. She just PLAYS at being the loyal soldier for Trump. She is a true danger.

Carlos's avatar

Yes! My God - she's funded by AIPAC! All her comments show a blatant support of every dual-citizen politician with Israeli connections. She is the epitome of a grifter - imagine your favorite shady character in Game of Thrones or any Shakespearean betrayal - and you have LAURA LOOMER. Check out what she did to Lauren Witzke - for evidence of who Laura Loomer is. She's a narcissistic psychopath and shape shifter.

Dana Warrington's avatar

I had no idea!! Lauren Witzke and my daughter played competitive travel softball together as teens.

Carlos's avatar

Laura Loomer stole 30,000+ dollars from Lauren Witzke - who was helping Loomer's political campaign as a strategist and producer of video. She stole so much, Witzke lost her health insurance ( in the 5th month of her pregnancy).

Loomer is a psychopath.

Melissa Wiechmann's avatar

I think Aaron and Jess need to have a conversation with Lauren.

Dana Warrington's avatar

That is so awful!!! Didn’t know that. Another reason to have zero respect for Loomer!!

Kennedy's avatar

Great piece. It’s honestly concerning that Trump doesn’t see Loomer for what she is.

Tonni's avatar

But does he really see her as a trusted inner circle? I don’t see her at his side or hear him mention her ever. I could have missed it, but I see it as more her wanting to think she’s inside than in reality. Just my two cents.

Aaron Everitt's avatar

She’s had more access than others, but I am not sure how much influence she ultimately has.

Dana Warrington's avatar

I followed Loomer right up until she became alarmingly obsessed with completely trashing everyone who was invited to the White House to meet with Pam Bondi etc. in reference to the Epstein files. She completely lost her mind because she wasn’t invited! It was obvious. She was completely unhinged and I completely lost respect for her at that point.

This was a fantastic article! Hopefully Trump will read this-or someone in his administration will direct him to read and consider Aaron’s piece.

Great piece! "FDA is corrupt" for many a day... long time...

As a woman's woman, not to be snarky, but honest, I'd just like to add how ridiculous women look wearing false eyelashes.

Even on TV.. just an opinion from a fellow woman, a bit of humor and truth. Get rid of those creatures. lol.

Aaron Everitt's avatar

I can say that I have never worn them.

Great article, Aaron. I feel smarter having read it! I voted for a balanced budget and reform of the government-Pharma entanglement. Unfortunately, I’m seeing how truly powerful the Washington system is: money>MAHA/MAGA/ethics.

Aaron Everitt's avatar

It is a hard place to get things done, and there are no allies, only limited aliances. More work is necessary by the citizens to keep digging and looking at all who are involved in it. Bias exists in every human, and hiding it creates a dark atmosphere for sinister forces and money to dictate the outcomes. The people of the country have to make sure that they ask those questions of all institutions...the press, the government, the corporations, the entertainers. Thanks for reading, and I am glad you enjoyed.

AMAZING article. Several sentences stood out to me as important and quotable statements all on their own. SO very well written. Bravo.

AJA's avatar

Bravo! Another amazing piece of writing 🌾Aaron always puts perfectly into words what I've been trying to actualize from my own thoughts. You have a true gift for making sense of these variegated and multifaceted layers of the goings on within our government.

Aaron Everitt's avatar

Thank you for reading, as always. I think it's part of what education took from our younger generations: the simplified breaking down of government to its core actions is lost in our understanding of how it all goes together and works. Instead, it's been replaced by character and theatrics, which enable them to get more done under our noses because they make it seem more complex than it is.

Wolfpak5's avatar

Great article Aaron! I have always felt that Loomer is nothing more than a shit stirrer.

Aaron Everitt's avatar

You got it. Easy to see, I think though which helps assign a value to the noise.

Amen brother. 12/10 again! Couldn’t agree more. Critical thinking is a lost art form that kids aren’t taught anymore. I’m so grateful I had parents who taught me to research all sides and make informed opinions and decisions, not just go with the heard. Be a leader, not a follower. If everyone is saying the same thing, be suspicious. Awesome job, Aaron!

Aaron Everitt's avatar

Skepticism is a lost value, and as Americans, it should be more important to us than patriotism. Our love of country comes when we are healthy and wise - not from a football-like devotion to our heroes or team. Thanks for reading!

This was a phenomenal piece. Go Aaron!

Aaron Everitt's avatar

Thank you, Susan! Appreciate you reading it.

My favorite piece from you yet, Aaron. I am a prescriber. The drug reps just don't stop knocking. If the prescribers they visit prescribe their med more than prescribers in another rep's area they get all expense paid trips to Europe with their spouse. The conflicts of interest when it comes to our nations health are sickening and feel insurmountable.

Fantastically written, Aaron! As always, thank you for your words. I agree - blind loyalty is dangerous. Anyone who tells you not to question this or that does not have your best interests at heart. Dig for information, don’t be lazy. Be informed.

My personal opinion - Laura Loomer is a loon. Her views on covid make me steer clear of her and her opinions.

Aaron Everitt's avatar

She's predictable at least - you know what you are going to get. Someone who needs attention will never just suddenly become a deep-thinking expository thinker. She needs shock to keep her clicks, and that will always mean speed, shock, and pandering to sponsors or money hucksters over accuracy. Thanks for reading, as always!
