“her willingness to question the prevailing ideology sets her apart. She is unapologetic in this new phase but still grapples with the reality many of us find ourselves in, where neither the right nor the left fully aligns with our beliefs. Settling into political limbo means we reject the rigid reins of dogma on both sides.”

Never have a I ever found a paragraph that reflects my political feelings more. She is so many of us.

Wonderful article!

Agreed! Think about voting for Kennedy. Watch an interview on any podcast you like. Don't listen to what the MSM says about him. I think he is our last best hope! Sabrinalabow.substack.com

For sure voting for Kennedy! I’ve never felt more aligned with a politician or been more excited to vote for anyone in my entire life!

Yes! I came here to quote this passage as well and say that it’s how I’ve felt for a long time, even before COVID. It makes it difficult to engage in social settings when politics come up because I’m so afraid of being misunderstood or labeled unfairly. And it’s why this substack is so refreshing too.

I met Drea once because our kids went to the same school. She was so down to earth and friendly. It's unbelievable to me that she is one of only a handful of people in Hollywood to go against the grain. I always thought of artists as being critical thinkers. Wow was I wrong. It does take courage so bravo Drea and bravo Jessica for continuing to spread the word. People are starting to wake up because of people like you two! Sabrinalabow.substack.com

We are Drea fans in my home. My trajectory from left to loving Tucker Carlson is very similar. It's true and quite wild that since punk rock is based on a rejection of authority - the right is more punk rock right now than the left has ever been in my lifetime.

born and bred in Hollywood, worked in biz for decades.......when I refused the bio weapon my long time friends and a lot of family did everything they could to shame me, to tell me I was killing people by declining, it was a shit show and as hard as their feral energy was it only made me stronger in my self to discover what sovereignty means to me, I am at peace and I have found faith. I now live in semi rural North Carolina and have been learning how to take care of myself and the land.

so glad Drea is holding fast and moving forward with her obviously unconditionally supportive partner and kids, and thanks Jessica for a great substack.

"Settling into political limbo means we reject the rigid reins of dogma on both sides."

One of the best sentences in the entire post. It's the perfect explanation for those of us that are neither nor.

Me: dang she must love Waylon Jennings. Two seconds later, oh. 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ll save y’all the Google, she was involved with Shooter Jennings. Seems like a cool chic, cross aesthetic on lock. We need to flood the middle ground with like minded individuals with tempered, sane ideas instead of the extremists we have on the left and right.

That’s what I say “ I’m a Party Girl without a Party”……

It is a great perspective to hear. I would have as a conservative condemned her Fans page only. But I do understand her why she has gone it. It is a difficult place to be in Hollywood to see how really corrupt it’s become. What a hero to many to talk the truth even when it’s met with such hostility. I agree about Neil You g. That old man doesn’t see he has become the one he sang of in his youth. Great article Jessica. Can’t wait for part 2

I give her enormous credit for standing by her convictions and speaking out against the nonsensical ideology. Too few do. The rest are cowards or they’re too brainwashed to ever think for themselves. I’m so disgusted by it. It’s a lockstep mentality and they come for you when you break from it. Then they shun you. Now more of us know what Drea DeMatteo is made of. It’s good to know she sees what so many of us do. ❤️

Conservatives are the new punk rock. The counter culture.

I love this!! Who knew it would turn this way. I loved hippies back in the day. Fighting against the man. Now they are the man.

I have never watched an episode of The Sopranos but I now like this woman so much! It’s kind of wonderful to find like minded people tucked into corners everywhere.

Same never watched it but I like her too. Ca. sure had it rough during the lockdown. We were open so I can’t even imagine.

Excellent piece and I grabbed so many quotes that I'm keeping! A reminder to us all that there are so many more of her, so many more of us and every time we take a stand or speak up, we cast a broader light on those who follow the old, tired narrative blindly.

I would looove to know who the a-list celebrities are who didn’t have to play by those rules 👀.
