What?!? I know these things happen during campaigns, but so soon after accepting the role To me is a red flag and overall concerning. He literally just accepted the role 2 months ago, so what happened between now and then that caused him to resign. Gives me a feeling of unease about RFK and his campaign.

Right? I feel like we are back in no man's land. With Trump supporting this effed up Mike Johnson Ukraine shitstorm I was leaning more to RFK . Now I feel like both dads said "NO!" to a sleep over at Jolene's and I'm stuck at home babysitting the siblings.

He was against it - said how he would shut down the "war" and would not send money. Now he's good with sending billions. Of OUR money. Even if it's supposed to be a "loan," they can't pay it back. Something shifted.

I honestly am not surprised, holding that position I imagine would tie him to one candidate and not being able to possibly report on Trump as well, coupled with the VP choice maybe he was conflicted and needed to separate. I myself was pro Kennedy, going to his events and have donated more than I ever have to a candidate to ultimately have the rug pulled out with his running mate choice.

I’m stunned! I wonder what happened. That RFK post with the soooo didn’t seem like something Link would do but did we ever find out who in his camp posted that? I’m a Trump supporter but have followed and supported Link. He’s articulate, thoughtful, and an interesting person. Wherever he lands he will flourish and be an asset.

I think the VP choice could have been the decision maker. I watched a few videos from Links YouTube channel. Link seems to be a bit conservative. A Liberal Billionaire that has ties to Silicone Valley and George Gascon could have been the icing on the cake. Not sure...

It looks like he still supports him from his statement -

“I will continue to be an honest voice in

politics, not only for my generation, but for the forgotten man who is often overlooked by the Washington and Hollywood elite. This is a responsibility I take very seriously, so trust I'm

not going anywhere”.

I feel like if he jumped ships it would comprise his integrity. But we’ll see what happens. I’m very intrigued by this.

no actually, he specifically left out any language about supporting bobby, voting for bobby, thinking bobby should be president, etc. He didn't say anything positive about bobby, instead he thanked "kennedy supporters." Tells me he is no longer supporting RFK.

My take, based on nothingbut speculation: He resigned because of the dynamic with Cheryl. The most important decision a Presidential Candidate can make is their running mate. Picking Shanahan was a huge mistake, and everyone knows it. Kennedy said he chose her because it's who Cheryl wanted. I'm guessing this isn't the only decision heavily influenced by his wife. If Kennedy isn't capable of going against his wife in making important decisions for his campaign, and the country, it may not be the job for him. My guess is Link saw the writing on the wall and got out before the disarray became public.

I believe what Jessica said, that Trump really likes the sound of a Trump/Kennedy ticket. But I also heard Kennedy say that he didn't think his marriage would survive if he accepted the VP spot with Trump. Which is really sad. Because Cheryl could get so much more accomplished if her husband was VP then if her VP choice for their ticket was so terrible that they have no chance of being elected.

Karen's avatar

Yes! It's always bothered me that he said Cheryl is the reason he would not consider the VP role with Trump! Not too surprised since she is part of the Hollyweird, but disappointed in RFK. And now Cheryl is possibly the reason for his choice in VP?

There's also the trust factor, in my opinion. In 2016 remember Trump had a meeting with Bobby Kennedy Jr. and asked him to head up a committee looking into the safety of vaccines on the CDC schedule for childhood immunization. He asked Kennedy if he'd be willing to do it. Kennedy said yes. Then, according to a story Gates has told many times, Gates got in front of Trump and told him that committee was a very bad idea and not to do it. Then supposedly Pfizer offered to sponsor Trump's inauguration festivities and nothing ever happened again with the committee investigating the safety of vaccines. Kennedy never heard from Trump again. How to do you link arms with someone after that kind of ghosting? (these are all just my thoughts, of course, & nothing I've ever heard RFK Jr. articulate).

This is so disappointing and makes you wonder why. RFKJ has to be more judicious than Biden and Trump with who he picks to join his campaign. This will unfortunately be scrutinized particularly by those who wish RFKJ would go away. He needs to get ahead of this before the rumor mill explodes. See if there is anything you can do Jessica. I absolutely respect Link. He’s such a great example of a critically thinking young person. And that, might be, why he resigned. It’s my opinion that RFK Jr’s wife is a bit on the touchy side and when Link talked about the Trump trial last week she could’ve possibly gotten a bit upset about that. It’s all speculation on my part, but it was her that said Bobby wouldn’t be running as Trump’s VP, not Bobby. He said his wife wouldn’t approve if he chose to. That is why I’m speculating it was Link talking about Trump in general. Or, and it’s a big or, Bobby has decided to support Trump and be his VP. 🤷🏻‍♀️
