Michigander here. Big Gretch's handling of the pandemic is what red-pilled me. People here in the upper peninsula DESPISE her. I remember her going on a vacation with her family on a private jet while the rest of us were locked down.
She's got a great wardrobe of blazers, but that's about all she has to offer. Her and Newsome would be my hunger games nightmare.
She is the Dolores Umbridge of American politics. I’m guessing they know this election cycle is going to be super volatile and they want to keep Newsom as the contender for ‘28. Either one would be absolutely horrific for the US.
She is a tyrant and we'd be more screwed than we are now if she won. I don't understand how abortion is an important issue when there are so many more things to be worried about like the open border. That problem is literally changing the landscape of America. It's been my biggest worry since 2021.....that and the corrupt justice system.
Lifelong Michigander here. Her covid policies were some of the strictest in the country, yet she was caught violating them several times. We weren’t even allowed to buy seeds for our garden because they were deemed “non-essential” and blocked off in stores. We were threatened not to travel unnecessarily throughout the state or out of state, and people weren’t allowed to use a boat with a motor. The orchestrators of the supposed kidnapping plot were all acquitted. Her SOS and AG are deeply corrupt. Her slogan “fix the damn roads” is just that, a slogan. Our roads are still trash. It’s a running joke with Michiganders that you know you’ve left Michigan because the roads are nicer.
Whitmer is not as popular in Michigan as they are trying to make it sound. She’s mostly despised. And as someone commented earlier there were massive voter fraud issues in Michigan.
All I remember from the pandemic is my Michigander parents complaining about Whitmer's protocols (not all, obviously, but mostly). My parents are true outdoorsmen and couldn't even go fishing (a way they sustain their regular food source) because of the boat ramps being blocked off and threat of major fines. Fishing... outside... in your own boat... away from people....
Anons (of the Q variety) have been saying they would replace Biden at the DNC convention for over a year now. We mostly figured it would be Michelle Obama, but she’s not pulling as high as they thought she would. I hate Gretchen Whitmer. I knew exactly who she was as soon as she said her name, but I live in Ohio and referred to her as the Wicked Witch of the North. She was an absolute dictator during Covid. My parents literally were permitted from buying paint to paint the laundry room During Covid!!! It is also worth mentioning that the Republican party in Michigan is a total mess. And I say that as a Michigan Republican. She really hasn't faced a hard election. Tudor Dixon was destroyed by Never Trump Repubs. Her first election she ran against Bill Schuette who was as interesting as drying paint.
Also, check out Dana Nessel aka Whitmer's Henchwoman. You think Biden has gone after his political enemies? Nessel, the Michigan AG, has gone after almost all elected Republicans since Big Gretch took her throne. It's terrifying.
How sad that in a country as large as ours, the only options the DNC has are vile humans. I'm glad it's not Obama they're going to be whoring out but Gretchen isn't much better. God help us.

I live in Michigan. Whitmer allowed nursing homes to accept Covid patients. A lot of people died. This is posted in the Detroit Free Press.
From the Detroit News, Whitmer declined the state's nursing home association leader recommendation to house quarantine patients in empty facilities.
