I know many of us could fully understand what it’s like to live in a college party house (strangers in an out, alcohol and drug consumption, staying up all night etc) but that footage from the police going to the house for a noise complaint back in September draws a much better picture of what the house was really like thus possibly helping us to better understand a reason why D didn’t call the cops when she saw someone wandering through the house late at night. strangers moving through the house seems beyond normal. That mixed with booze or drugs...
I don’t think it’s out of line to question why the police weren’t called until noon the next day, AND that friends were called to come over to the house first. It doesn’t align with the “paralyzed with fear” narrative. Yes, she’s young, but as 20 year old college student, I knew to call the police, yes even when I was afraid. My sorority sisters and I CONSTANTLY checked on each other. Texted, knocked on doors, made sure everyone got home, made sure no one was passed out in a dangerous position. This isn’t rocket science. It’s basic human decency. You look out for each other. You’re aware of your surroundings, etc…. If she was “paralyzed with fear” she was coherent enough to know, something wasn’t right. She heard her roommate crying, she opened her door THREE times. I think it’s okay to have a dialogue around the very honest question, are we emotionally and mentally preparing our children to be out in the world? What is going on with Gen Z?! Is social media turning an entire generation into self-obsessed zombies?? WHY, with all this hyper-focus on mental health in our society, do we have people who are still so isolated, so ignored, tortured, bullied and mentally ill, that they shoot 10 year olds in a classroom, and stab innocent college student in their apartments at night? This case is so disturbing for so many reasons, but the biggest for me is, what is to become of these kids?!? How can we make this world better for them??
I grew up in Pullman! I’m sure looking at the population on google it seems small to most but when you take the population of the universities out of Pullman and Moscow the towns probably have less than 10,000 people in them. When the students went home for Christmas the stop lights were basically all blinking. They are surrounded by farm land. It’s truly an incredibly isolated place to be. No freeways for an hour, everybody knows your name. I guess, I’m trying to paint a picture for how small of a place you are actually going. The towns share everything, the newspaper, the mall, the airport. It’s surreal to me that the only account worth following on Instagram to me, will see and be reporting on the place I called home. Thanks for all you do Jessica.
The affidavit is kept minimal on purpose, I would imagine - just enough to get an arrest signed off on. The trial on the other hand, if no plea is entered, will be Massive.
Easiest explanation for the late 911 call is self-denial. For the roommate to have made that call, she would have to admit that something horrific had just occurred.
Man, you’re an absolute beast when it comes to compiling/relaying detailed information. Thank you for all you do! Just curious, did the original two threads with discussion and links get taken down?
No shame for Dylan but I don't believe the theories that she saw BK (allegedly) walk past her and thought him to be a house guest. Affidavit states that he had a mask and I'm assuming he was covered in blood. Even IF she didn't see all the blood and ignored the noises, statement of "theres someone in the house" and the crying she heard moments earlier, the masked man would give anyone case for concern. And it must have given Dylan cause as she retreated to her room and locked the door. So whereas we don't know what happened in the 8 hours that followed before she called the cops, she definitely would have known something was up in my opinion.
The photo that Papa Rodgers used isn’t from one of those AI apps, it is an oil painting from 2011 (i think). If you reverse image search it, it will pop up.
It’s not uncommon for young people to not call 911. One example I can think of is Amanda Knox…she saw a lot of things including blood and still didn’t call 911. I’m sure the OG true crime lovers can think of other examples.
Goodness, this is such a great compilation of information! Jessica, you’re my only source for this information on this case since I don’t have or watch any mainstream media. This is all so heavy and I’m sure will only get heavier when you’re in Moscow, good luck!
Also thank you for taking the time to compile all of this Jess.
The roommates deserve so many apologies, Dylan especially.

Jessica, thank you so much for putting this together. We appreciate all you’re doing. 💜

God bless you for this excellent post.

This is the best compiled most reasonable information I have seen, well done once again! Journalism at its finest, always. Thank you.
That last bit has me worried. You only need to follow any of your stories and know what can screw a trial up. They’ll also have issues with a jury
Thank you so much for this!!
