It’s fascinating to see how people sabotage themselves due to lack of self-awareness. Blake couldn’t handle (well deserved) bad press so she tried to drag someone else down with her. This website was great idea - while Blake and Ryan play behind-the scenes-PR games of thrones, Justin laid everything out in the open.

Good article. If you watch all of Candace Owens' videos on this subject, many of your questions will be answered. She has been producing a big series on the Brigette Macron and dealing with a lot of DDOS attacks on her website. She's also pregnant and has 3 children 4 yo and under. But her team has worked tirelessly on this story. BL, RR, Taylor Swift (who is totally involved in this as well and a reason Justin was intimidated) and Amber Heard have done more to destroy real victims of abuse than anyone else.

Candace has been crushing the coverage and digging in deep! Enjoying her videos and podcasts.

The selective outrage and narrative gymnastics on display are almost impressive if they weren’t so predictable. The moral compass in media commentary isn’t broken; it’s calibrated to spin wherever personal biases and (profitable) clicks point. Meanwhile, mainstream outlets mock Baldoni’s website aesthetics, as if a basic web design somehow discredits the evidence it contains. It’s the same deflection tactic used when easy, copy-and-paste media narratives become too uncomfortable—they focus on superficial details instead of asking serious questions or addressing the inconsistencies from new information. As a former district attorney turned YouTuber put it, "I don't know if I've ever seen more wrong headlines covering a case than in this case so far."

Expand full comment

Exactly! I couldn’t believe every MSM article was focused on mocking the aesthetic! Distract + Discredit

They’re all abhorrent. I truly pray that all of this is just another piece of the puzzle that wakes people up to Hollywood. Depravity everywhere. I used to be like that with a band, (I’m sure you can relate😂) but one of their own songs woke me up. I still like them as a band but I used to obsess over them as a fully grown adult, spending nights out on the sidewalk queuing to get up front. These Lively stans are almost as bad as Swifties. No matter what you may say, they cover their ears & eyes, “blah, blah, blahing,” at the top of their lungs.

Ok but now I need to know what band!

I read most of the texts between Blake and Justin. And Blake comes off as a horrible bully. I kept wondering why Justin didn’t stand up more. But that may be the power of celebrity. The main question is why did Blake go after him? She thinks she’s still Gossip Girl. She clearly thinks she is wholly entitled. I am firmly Team Baldoni. Who would ever want to work with Lively after reading her constant threats to dismantle this film. Not only should Justin win this case, he should get a big, big financial settlement. Lively should be thrown out of the industry altogether. Her actions as simply an actress hired to act in a film are beyond despicable — even evil.

Expand full comment

Baldoni was too nice. He never should have given her freedom to write lines, choose wardrobe, never should have texted so much with Blake beyond logistics. He was too eager to ‘please’ her.

Expand full comment

According to Candace’s research, Blake hadn’t signed her contract for the film. She kept threatening not to as a way to leverage her way to get what she wanted.

Expand full comment

That’s 100% true. He bent over backward. I think too much, too. How did he keep himself from just raging?

Expand full comment

That’s very interesting. Seems to end up in the same situation anyway. Men should take heed. Not all girls are sweet little damsels. Some are manipulative bitches and you give them an inch they’ll eat you for breakfast. I feel for Justin, seems he was trying so hard to be woke and progressive he lost his balls. Might be realising there’s a reason business hasn’t been conducted this way.

Most successful directors…I just can’t imagine them fostering such a collaborative and intimate environment. In a funny way, the MeToo movement has created more intimate relationships with directors/producers needing to ‘check-in’ with talent on every detail like talking to Blake Lively about how sexy/unsexy her wardrobe is versus just handing her the wardrobe.

Expand full comment

Which begs us to ask, why? Why was he so eager to please her?

How did she accumulate a position to have the leverage?

Why did she feel she was entitled to that?

These are the questions I have heard from other people and also curious myself.

How does it come into being co-stars and a director to BL wanting control AND her spouse of the movie narrative? Surely that doesn’t just happen overnight

I’m not in the industry so I have no clue how these things work .

Expand full comment

I think she perceived him as weak when he was just trying to keep things running smoothly. Blake took advantage of that. And in some small way, he rejected her. So it was war. But one doesn’t just accuse someone of sexual harassment unless it’s truly sexual harassment. That could ruin his career. He had to fight back. I hope he wins big. She is evil to do that to him.

Expand full comment

If she was SA by him and was avoiding court, allegedly, maybe she leveraged that for creative control? He wouldn’t give over enough so now the battle ensues. (I think this isn’t his first accusation of the like right?)

Does that make her smart or manipulative?

Expand full comment

Seems he thought being a woke eunuch would ensure no problemo but alas…

Expand full comment

It’s amazing who would want to continue working with her. There are rumors running she has also refused to promote A Simple Favor 2 with Anna Kendrick probably using the same tactics of “my way or else I won’t do what you say”. Also, how did anyone overlook her not signing a contract?

Expand full comment

What else could Justin do? He always portrayed himself as a feminist ally. With that public relations spin on his image, how could he ever stand up to a strong woman?

Expand full comment

I think he really believed that if he was a feminist ally that all would be utopic. He learnt a hard lesson… got a diploma in manipulative bitches.

This is a superb and accurate title for this article. Now for the rapid answer to all your questions... 1) yes, WHY??? 2) Ryan is insecure. 3) Blackmail. 4) Blackmail. 5) Blackmail. 6) rock/hard place 7) inquiring minds. I read the 168 timeline pages (I know, crazy). It was clear that whenever Lively insinuated her creative desire, Baldoni would gently say great, and maybe we'll combine. Then something happens (Ryan sees something, Blake is hearing NO too much, and her psych cannot handle it), someone breaks, and then the request to see the dallies and have control of the edits is followed up with ... "if you don't give me complete and utter control I will not promote this movie." Baldoni kept caving to get the film released. The final straw was when Baldoni/Wayfairer said no to Ryan's letter, saying they were to blame for Blake's organically generating bad press. Cue the CA HR complaint. Hello, SA lawsuit. This whole saga is both fascinating and obnoxious at the same time. I hate that I am this invested when I have other things to do!

Something happened during the writer's strike while Blake & Ryan were home for 3-4 months. Ryan either saw a text or overheard a phone call or saw some clip of the film that put him into orbit. To write the Nicepool character/scenes into his own movie and film that crazy promo bit for It Ends With Us was overkill. What triggered him? It will come out...

I believe it was something that went down on that six hour plane ride from New York to LA

Blake offered to fly Baldoni home to visit his wife and that Blake would fly with him so that they could rehearse and practice their lines on the flight there and the flight back

That’s weird in end of itself.

My take, I think she made a pass on that plane and he didn’t go for it

She knew that it would get out, so she concocted her plan.

Everything changed after that moment

I’m was thinking it was a commercial flight but I’m now thinking it was a private flight. You’re on to something…

You don’t do something like introduce a brand new character into a film that didn’t exist before unless your ego/pride/masculinity (chose your poison here) got hit HARD. I agree that he saw or heard something that set him off and I think it was deep cutting - a moment between BL and JB that was too chemistry filled or sexually tense.

This is excellent. What I've wanted to know is why Gina Rodriguez from Jane The Virgin, is silent. The other main chick is too. They should come forward to say, at the least, that he never acted inappropriately with them," or "well, there was that one time..." I think this is big enough that warrants something.

From what I have noticed from past allegations against other celebrities, it is near career suicide to do so. It gets reported, oftentimes in a negative light, and shamed by people on social media who think they know better. It might not be right, but it's hard to blame anyone for staying silent. They might be supporting him privately and quietly in other ways. Hollywood is small, and people do talk.

According to the lawsuit, Blake kept threatening to not promote the movie so Sony and Wayfarer just caved and gave her everything she wanted. They drew the line at the ridiculous statement making wayfarer takes responsibility for all the stupid moves Blake made, and that’s why they decided to go to file a complaint/The NY Times. Everyone sounds scared of Blake and Ryan.

I’ve always thought Ryan was a creep and I never understood Blake’s fame. She’s gorgeous yes.. and??? 🥴

Was waiting for your take on this one as I my eyes were fatigued after 15 pages reading these pdfs.

You may know, Lady Colin Campbell has knowledge of an alleged revenge game by Ryan against Scarlett Johansson.

According to Lady C, Wayfarer Studios were backing one of Scarlett J’s films and RR sought to punish the studio as a way to get back at his first wife. If all this is true, RR seems very jealous and insecure. 🤷 Thanks for the summary, Jessica. A soap opera in real time…As the Stomach Turns. Team Truth & Justin Baldoni!

There’s rumors about a morality clause in the contract between Justin and Colleen and it would give the rights back to Colleen if violated and they are trying to trigger that since he wouldn’t sell it to Ryan. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I received confirmation that the mortality clause floating around TikTok was fake news which is why I didn’t include it

That rumor doesn't make much sense to me. Wayfarer had a reputation of uplifting stories and creating awareness for positive social change. Why would they need a morality clause? Plus Justin's reputation at the time was a positive one. Colleen hadn't successfully sold her book rights before that and it just doesn't make sense for her to include such a clause. No one (in the general public) even knows if it exists or not but I s'pose that's why it's a rumor

In the 168 page timeline published, there's a claim from the IEWU production attorney that Lively never signed a Certificate of Engagement before they started shooting. The implication is that's ultimately why she was able to gain so much control over the film, and why Wayfarer was very limited in their capacity to act.

I just went to the website and read a lot of the details. Honestly, I had been avoiding it up to this point because, well I think we can all agree there are more important things going on in the world...

I will start out with that I have never thought of Reynolds as a player. I don't like his movies and I remember questioning him after the immediate divorce from Johannsen. Weird I know, but when couples split like that it's a "red flag" to me. Like, what did she see that she hadn't seen before? Then I watched a few episodes of "Welcome to Wrexham" about his soccer purchase and I thought he had to be the most arrogant person I'd ever seen", so condescending to his business partner and just seemed odd. Like he was getting all the limelight and this friend was doing the behind the scenes work. Hmmm, sounds like this movie project.

Baldoni comes across as weak to me. He gave way too much to Lively and you could just see it slipping away, one text at a time. Sony is worse than weak, just abominable in their decision making. The key to me is the slip up with "she wrote the roof scene" and then it being mentioned that Reynolds wrote it. Legal caught it too and that's a screw up.

Blake has probably been overlooked, she's been young and yes a B actress. Coming in after the fact and wanting all kinds of control, not previously stipulated is just insanity. Just a brat. I will never say that she is NOT responsible for this, no matter what her husband did or didn't do. I think for her it was vanity. She felt uncomfortable post partum, was a little "old" for the role, and it all started with how she was going to look. Starting with the outfits and just escalated. She wanted daily control because she couldn't lose the baby weight fast enough and wanted to make sure she looked how she wanted to be seen. Sadly that probaly does stem from reynolds and how he treats her post partum. (don't scream people I had 3 babies in my 30's and I know!)

This is as big as Weinstein to me. This is the David vs Goliath... BIG bully celebrities muscling their way into what should have been a big box office hit. Funny I thought it was cast wrong vs. the books to begin with.

Speaking of the books, I will never purchase or read another Colleen Hoover book. It makes me sick that she writes for the YA genre and puts some serious filth in most of her books and thought she was doing a good thing with this series but what a sell out!

I will also note that I find it interesting Owens is getting in on the celebrity action. I know she has had her personal issues with certain folks but this doesn't seem like her genre. Almost like she wants some of HIH business. Just saying.

Well put. I’ve been feeling the same on every one of your points regarding this case.

Just a small correction, but Baldoni didn’t ask Lively her weight. He asked their mutual trainer, bc he’s long suffered a serious back injury and wanted to train properly for the lift. The trainer, for some whacky reason, reported his question back to Lively.

I guess he probably felt like he needed Blake's permission to share her postpartum weight-which is understandable. I still think it was a fair question though.
