Is it wrong to be bitter that Vogue robbed us of Melania’s style and keeps serving us such lackluster subjects?

NO!

Expand full comment

No, it’s just wrong that Vogue and all of the media treated Melania so abysmally. Jill wears picnic table clothes and they swoon!! 😂

Expand full comment

Couches! She wears couches.

Expand full comment

I solved the problem and cancelled my subscription after being a long time subscriber of over 35 years.

Expand full comment

RIGHT LIBBY?! She is so chic and they never let that be highlighted

Expand full comment

I don’t think Melania cares. She got her wonderful Vogue cover 20 years ago! (it was a great cover in my opinion!)

Expand full comment

She cares. And I don’t blame her!!

Expand full comment

I have been saying this for a long time. Just a thought, do you think they asked and Melania, being the private person she is, declined?

Expand full comment

No. There was an interview where Anna was asked directly about M, and Anna answered by talking about her admiration for Michell Obama, who was no longer FLOTUS. It's wild to watch because her bias against M is so evident.

Did you see that post about how Woodrow Wilson’s wife Edith had taken control of the White House after he suffered a stroke? It seems eerily similar.

“In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated by a stroke. Immediately thereafter, his wife Edith took control.

Edith made decisions on his behalf and controlled access to her husband, thus effectively turning herself into de facto president, without anyone realizing.

The entire episode was covered up.”

Expand full comment

Absolutely what I’ve been feeling since the debate. The more I dived into the Edith story the more similarities I found with Jill. Most shocking is the fact the decision for woman voting rights were denied to Americans by Edith after Woodrow’s stroke, even though he was determined to approve them. Turns out evil Edith was against women’s voting rights. That cover up ended up altering US history. Just as our current events are altering our future history. Wish the future generations document all this madness accurately in future history archives.

TIL 😳!! You mean it wasn't the "evil patriarchy" keeping women from voating, but a woman herself? Thanks to her we have all the crazy, raging Feminists that wouldn't be here had Pres. Wilson had his way? Wow. Other women can be our own worst enemies.

Wow. It’ll be interesting in a few generations what’s said about this point in time, that’s for sure.

I have questioned who is actually running the country and making the decisions. The Joe Biden from Thursday is not that. I thought it was Obama, but if the relationship is cool then is it really JILL? Seriously?? We are so vulnerable at the moment. Who is in charge of the Democrat Machine?

I think we're all rightfully wondering this

Melanie this is exactly what I said on the previous post! This isn’t a democracy if the person elected to do the job isn’t in fact doing the job..if people who were not voted in are making decisions we are absolutely not living in a democracy and this should concern every single American.

I’ve been wondering this also. I thought I had it figured out that Biden, Obama et al are puppets for who’s really behind the curtain. Now I’m really freaked out. Maybe they just didn’t tell them lol.

All the BHO bitterness... I think it's just an act. BHO and Gavin have to look and sound encouraging, supportive and concerned in front of the tv cameras.... I honestly think they would love Joe to stay in the Casa Blanca.... you know... a 4th term...

It seems pretty clear this administration and the DNC lacks leadership. It's being run by advisors, pollsters, lobbyists, and cowards. Hence the chaos and lack of vision or direction. No one person is pulling any strings.

Not too bad of a gig for a girl who started out as the family’s babysitter…..Lady McBiden indeed, married to crazy King Lear. It’s elder abuse. Why anyone is good with this on a private or public level is appalling. Oh, and Pelosi says “ Trump has Alzheimer’s too.” Here’s an idea…. How about everyone stops lying about everything??

I’m sure you’ve read in comment sections about family members recognizing in Joe Biden the all too sad and obvious symptoms of dementia that they’ve experienced first hand. As the primary caregiver for my father in law in our home until his death, it’s a trigger for many who have experienced this and especially undignified for a once proud person. When we were nearing end stage, a wise elder care counselor gave it to us straight, she said that he will seem to be in somewhat of a decline with whack a mole symptoms until he reaches a cliff and then simply drop off in a steep and quick decline. Exactly how it was. That low raspy voice and gaping mouth represent the stage where they begin to require soft foods and straws because swallowing is harder. Talking is breathy and labored. They clear their throat a lot. Sleep and moods are irregular. Sundowning is the norm, with agitation and outbursts, to minimize this, routine is important!! Stress can exasperate them and exacerbate their symptoms. I can’t imagine Jill Biden hasn’t been counseled by the best of the best. I think he was a dangerous man, because of his swampy selfishness and rules for thee and not for me, but it’s turned into a nightmare case scenario because of Lady Macbeth and her own self serving actions.

Thank you for sharing your experience as a caregiver. The word you used, “undignified,” is spot on. What Jill and Hunter are doing is abusive.

Your description is spot on. I have gone through it now with 3 family members and a close family friend. It is awful to live through…be a witness to and watching this play out on a National stage the last few years has been very triggering for me. The debate almost sent me off the metaphorical cliff. Seeing some of Biden’s reactions specifically his smirk or laugh—it’s one that I’ve only ever seen in my family members when they were in that steady decline & their laugh or smile was more nasty…not who they were or the person we knew them to be before… Also his staring & gaping mouth…it’s just so depressing & deplorable.

I’m sorry you went through this too. It is very hard to watch someone in decline in such a public way. I know so many of us have been touched by this in some way and wish he had the support he deserves.

After reading American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady, from Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden, I was surprised about the coldness from Jill to the Obama’s especially Michelle. It definitely made me look at her differently. Also Michelle is very close to Hunter’s ex wife and expressing dissatisfaction with how the family is treating her and the reason why they haven’t been out supporting them on the campaign trail. This whole thing is so disheartening. Great reporting per usual, Jessica

I love these conversations. But I’ll also say I’d rather have them plow ahead thinking all is right in Democrat-land. The less that made of it the more it becomes a race between Bobby and Donald. Which to me is the real race. That said…

The $5,000 dress of all dresses. Hopefully she enjoys it because she’s gotten used to manipulating money and buying what she wants at will. Those days are coming to a close. Maybe she’ll be buried in it, I think to myself. Then realizing Hunter knows the value so he’ll trade for something! 🤣

They’ve used their Delaware home as an ATM machine refinancing it 20 time in a few short years to pull millions out of it $350,000 value. How is that possible if not for elite favors?

The comparison to Lady Macbeth is spot on! There’s nothing more intoxicating than being able to do as you please without question. 🤨 The problem being is that intoxication doesn’t last (unless you’re a Clinton evidently) and you soon find yourself wait high in detox without a friend in the world. Step-mom status is not a good place for her.

Your list! So good. My only add would be the repeated Hitler clone that Trump is purported to be. Like what? No. Just more rhetoric backed by nothing other than a few celebrities who says they witnessed the McCarthy trials and it wasn’t pretty. But what a weird way to see it up for them.

I guess I’ll have to add the label to my bio: “House Inhabit junkie” for sure. Keep up the great work.

I have loved fashion since I could walk in my mother's heels. Growing up on a farm in the middle of nowhere in an agriculture-focused southern state, fashion wasn't exactly a natural proclivity for a girl like me. Yet, somehow, I found myself enthralled with pretty dressed and fancy shoes. I spent hours sketching outfits for my Barbies and designing dance costumes for myself in the little spiral notebooks that were supposed to contain my notes for school. For my 15th birthday, I asked for a subscription to Vogue magazine. My mother was perplexed, but obliged, and a within its pages, a whole new world opened before me. I remember anxiously awaiting the magazine's delivery to my mailbox each month, then wildly pouring over the pages, cover to cover, memorizing every line. From the late 1990s through the early 2000s, I knew every single luxury fashion item that appeared in its pages, and their prices. I could spot them in movies, on TV, and at Neiman Marcus during my once annual birthday trip to the fancy mall in the big city that was nowhere near my small town. Vogue magazine was like oxygen to my creative lungs, and it represented everything I wanted to be in the world. Reading the magazine each month was often the only thing I had to look forward to in my otherwise miserable life. I'll spare the details, but trust that it was rough. After high school, I wanted to go to art school for fashion design, but my mother said, "There are no jobs in fashion," and sent me to a state college for a degree in medicine. I hated it, but reasoned that I could at least be a well dressed doctor someday.

I read Vogue religiously for two, almost three decades, until one point where I was too broke to continue my subscription. Some things just have to go, but thankfully social media had taken off and I could watch the shows online for free. I could now form my own opinions of the clothes, but I always held Vogue in the highest regard. I hated the Kar-trashian era, but I still admired Anna. In recent years, watching Vogue's decline has been tragic, with the weird in-person Vogueworld events and the out-of-touch circus that became of the once-chic Met Gala. But wow, and I do mean, wow, this cover right here marks an all time low for Vogue magazine.

I never, ever, in a million years thought I would ever type/say/feel this, but Vogue magazine is dead to me. If you can't see corporate media's collusion with a certain political party now, then you're never going to see it. This is an absolute, utter, abysmal atrocity. I'm glad that I never forked over the cash to watch Anna's Masterclass. I used to envy her decisiveness and wish to emulate it. Now it's clear who's actually been making the decisions for the magazine all these years. Anna is dead to me now, too.

Whew, I'm going to need a minute. This is hard to bear.

Free Joe Biden! T’s?

Ok so when I did theatre, there was a common joke that when you were in a terrible show or you went to your friend’s terrible show, afterward the only thing you could ever say was “WOW! You were ON that stage!!!” 😂 It was code for “there is absolutely nothing I can say at all right now and stay friends.” And it’s all I could hear when Jill said to her little boy Benjamin Button “You answered all of those questions!”

My question is…what power is Jill Biden wielding or what is she influencing that she is so terrified to let go of? I know power is an addictive thing but what is she influencing so greatly that she can’t let go because she so obviously won’t let Joe out because she feels she has some greater influence.

Because the lifestyle (Air Force One, nice clothes and the White House) can’t be all she’s afraid to lose…

The Bidens have no money and the whole family are dependents. I predict they’ll be given a golden parachute by democrats to leave.

Exactly this Jess! This is what I believe she is doing & the card she is playing! They have nothing! When most POTUS & FLOTUS leave the White House they have book deals & libraries & so many $$$$ offers lined up for their future. Her current outlook is being a caretaker to a man in severe mental decline. I believe she is holding out & putting him on display as her bargaining chip with the Democrats to buy them out…

What a great story with the perfect analogy to Lady MacBeth. The current crop of Democrats are just vile grifters and Vogue magazine rises to the top in promoting that grift with their constant fawning coverage and photoshopping of the "beautiful people" aka Democrats. Our country deserves so much better, but first, we have to collectively come to that realization and believe that just because someone is a Democrat doesn't mean their motives are pure.

We do not deserve this. The fact that she is putting her power cravings before the people is absolutely disgusting.

Expand full comment

Please don't think I'm impugning all Democrats - most of my friends are Democrats, and I like them very much. By "the current crop" I mean the leadership under the Clinton/Obama cabal and their immediate sycophants: Schumer, Pelosi, Raskin, Waters, Schiff. They are the worst. And you are right: we don't deserve this but sometimes, by voting for a party instead of a position, I think we do get what we deserve.

Very true! I believe that most of the time Democrats motives are fair and honest. MEGA?

Certainly the current leadership doesn’t demonstrate good motives, as they all were on the Sunday and morning news shows, circling the Biden’s wagon and, in doing so, protecting their own jobs. Even the major networks said Schumer, Raskin, et al, are reluctant to speak out for fear of repercussions. Grow a backbone and finally do the right thing.
