Thank you for this. Something was off to me about them but I couldn't pin point the issue. I was cognizant they're suddenly omnipresent and that struck me as concerning. I respect Nicole and my loyalty is with her and RFK.

I feel the same way about The Food Babe.

Expand full comment

The Food Babe has been an activist for better food for a very long time. I have been following her for probably close to 10 years give or take.

Expand full comment

Same! Something made me uneasy and I could not put my finger on it.

Expand full comment

Same feeling 100%. When she started with the food ritual in convo with Tucker I was like nope, something is way wrong here. Intuition is never wrong. They are on the dark side.

You said it perfectly!

I listened to them on Rogan and I liked what they were saying. I never trust anyone right off the bat and I did find myself wondering where they came from and what their financial situation is being that they both supposedly walked away from their respective careers. I am not really surprised to see this information.

I think the most important take away is discernment. Everyone has to be vigilant about the information they consume and where it comes from. Does it resonate with you? Is there room to question? I reject absolutism and always try to remind myself that if it doesn’t sound like something that would work for me then it’s not for me.

I do, on a personal gut level, believe that the truth will be revealed in spite of evils hearty attempt to obfuscate by flooding us with so much BS that it’s hard to know what to believe.

I’d just say approach everyone with a critical eye, even people you already trust.

Expand full comment

Definitely. We need to really practice tuning into our gut during these times.

I’ve heard the siblings on several podcasts and as someone who spent 12 years in the medical industry and mental health industry, I can say with confirmation that none of what they talked about is a secret. They’re just one of the first to break the seal of fear and step out on the matrix. If they had an agenda that is this cynical and driven by profit most of the book would be torn apart and probably devoured by professionals. Instead, practitioners like myself any so many others are finally feeling and seeing validation. Our food is killing is and I don’t care who her father or uncle was related to, it’s irrelevant. Wagging the dog isn’t going to help here, they’ve lifted the veil that needed to be lifted. Their financial crusade doesn’t change science, nor does their agenda.

We are not our parents or the sins of our parents.

Interesting. They do demonize physicians though- a point that though I’ve shared their podcasts doesn’t sit well with me.

Bobby only heard of them this year and I think I was listening to Bobby's own podcast when he said he was surprised he had been in this line of work for so long and never heard of these people until this year. That was a red flag for me.

Petty but a red flag for me was that Casey wore an off the shoulder dress to testify to the Senate Roundtable. Anyone else find that an odd outfit choice?

Expand full comment

OMG Yes! WTF was that about? I was like, what?

Expand full comment

Me too!!!

Casey Means has been around for quite a while but I don’t think she was famous outside of the lifestyle medicine / culinary medicine bubble. Her brother was a different story - though I had heard of True Med. I just wish they didn’t villainize practicing physicians as much as they do. I’m not sure how we will get where we want to go without them.

What about Janette Nesheiwat!!! She was and is for censoring speech??? Why is this not being reported and was she chosen to balance the other side? I do not understand! What is the story here???

Thank you for putting this in with the info about the Means siblings. I would love an inside scoop on Nicole and where she is fitting in with RFK Jr. in this new direction.

Expand full comment

Yes, this is super alarming to me. Praising censorship in favor of government propaganda? No. That is some deep state level stuff right there.

Expand full comment

This is who I am worried about, not the Means siblings! Nesheiwet is one I do NOT trust!!!

Expand full comment

I’m bothered by this choice as well. Part of me feels like this may be the result of some deal, as the surgeon general really has no direct power like the heads of FDA and CDC? I trust RFKJr, I think he probably had to throw the establishment a bone to get some of his picks through. It will be interesting to see what happens at NIH

Expand full comment

I am floored by this pick. It’s very alarming.

Great that you are covering this Jess. My view? Big Ag, Tech, Pharma and the rest… it is all interwoven and a huge and intricate web. For RFK and Trump to get this far, of course there will be dark shadows putting players wherever they can to mitigate against any loss of control.

When you see it, you can’t unsee it.

I am reading comments here about feeling confused or hopeless or you can’t trust anyone or who can we trust anymore?

My answer is this: we have handed over our incredible power as individual and collective beings to structures of power and politics. Let that go. Come back to yourself. Nobody will save you. Each of us has that power within, so let that be your guide. Let the play, play out. Discern always. We have Jessica to thank for that! She will always question and never blindly follow. That, with a bit of gut instinct is all you need.

I have followed Casey for a while and Calley for almost as long. Their catalyst for their recent MAHA rise was their mother's cancer battle ending in her death. I believe that Casey and Calley have a genuine concern for the health of the nation.

Expand full comment

Right. Or, all they needed was an emotional story and we feel we can trust them.

Expand full comment

That is not what I said. The catalyst for them to leave the mainstream medical community and start questioning everything from nutrition to vaccines was because of their mother's cancer battle. This was before getting involved with the MAHA movement. Their changes in the way they think has been bubbling up way before MAHA.

Yes, I first heard of her on Allie Beth Stuckey's podcast and she shared that whole story- so sad and very eye-opening.

I didn't say that. The catalyst of them leaving traditional medicine circles and asking pertinent questions of traditional medicine was because of their mother.

So glad you are putting this out there. I find that they are almost cringeworthy rehearsed (particularly the brother who talks over his sister too often). Listened to them on Rogan and it was all catch phrases with little to no depth. Their rise is too meteoric to be unconnected to other agendas.

Really appreciate you reporting on this Jessica. It felt good to see Kruse’s input weighed in on here!!

Thank you for speaking up about this. As a person healing from severe chronic illness, I can say that it was obvious from the get go that these two had an agenda that wasn’t truth. First of all, they came up seemingly out of nowhere onto the biggest conservative podcasts/shows - that rapid rise to fame is highly suspect. They weren’t in the fight for the past decade or two like the real fighters in this movement have been. Also, they weren’t saying anything unique/new, and they weren’t speaking to the TRUE causes of illness. Are processed foods good for you? No. But, are they the reason people are ill with neurological disorders, brain issues, severe pain, etc? Also, no. Ever seen someone drop dead the first time they ate a McDonald’s cheeseburger or tremor/seize after their first Kellogg cereal? Me neither. We already know the biggest factor triggering disease - those things that go into people’s arms. There’s no shortage of people experiencing anaphylaxis, death, and neurological problems directly after those. There are other important factors too like the poisons being put out there such as fluoride.

You should know that the severely ill people in this country are not eating processed foods. We have the option to eat better so we do. We make our food from scratch. Those that are eating processed foods will probably continue to find a way to do so no matter what. Why should we beg Kellogg to make a cleaner cereal? People in Europe have a cleaner version, and they are sick too. Europe has the same chronic illness issues that we do in America. We already have the power and option to buy a better brand or make a smoothie instead.

We only have limited time, energy, & resources so let’s put them toward the pieces of this puzzle that can actually move health mountains if changed. Let’s not be distracted by food that we already know is junk food and that we aren’t mandated to eat. And, if we are going to focus on diet, let’s focus on the real issues plaguing our country like studying why a growing percentage of Americans are severely intolerant to gluten? Why the chronically ill can’t tolerate dairy, corn, soy, or canola oil anymore? And while I’m on a roll here, why so many Americans get migraines, rashes, etc from fragranced products? Why do we have gluten-free, dairy-free, and fragrance-free movements to begin with? We need to be focused on the REALITY of what’s harming our health instead of a distraction by a performative evil plant whose plan won’t move the needle one bit.

Lev, unlike what you stated, ultra-processed foods (UPFs) CAN and DO cause "neurological disorders, brain issues, severe pain," etc. MULTIPLE peer-reviewed studies have been released on this in recent years. UPFs have also been linked to our current mental health crisis, namely depression, anxiety, Alzheimers, etc. Are there other reasons (e.g., Big Pharma) that our health is failing? Absolutely. But the fact that food is a MAJOR contributor to our current health crisis is not a guess, a hypothesis, or a theory--it's a fact.

Well said. Food must not be divorced from agriculture and we must always look at how and what we grow. Look who’s buying up all the land…? Bill Gates.

It’s all a deceitful web that needs unpicking. And it all starts by what we choose to do with our own hands and feet, each day.

There’s a debate between jack kruse and Kaley means coming out on Danny jones podcast in the next couple of days. Both Mean siblings seem very robotic, and show very little personality in all of these long forum interviews. Jack kruse is brilliant and it’s worth listening to his interviews with Danny jones and Rick Ruben.

Jessica,

You might look at Dr Peter McCullough’s concerns on his substack page. He is a world-renowned cardiologist who has raised issues with the Means siblings.

Can you link to where he talks about them?

Interestingly enough, I heard that the new Chief of Staff pick denied Dr McCullough a visit with Trump. I’ll have to look into that more to verify.

They are also connected to Dr. Mark Hyman and Function Health, which he co-founded. I became a member of FH because I wanted an overall understanding of my health. It’s a very interesting experience and now I’m armed with 102 biomarker results.

Now I need to do some additional research on FH & Dr. Mark. Ugh! Why is everything so convoluted!
