I just adore you! Thank you for being so authentic and honest. It is so refreshing. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning every single time your latest post pops into my inbox.
Jessica, our firece reporter...don't apologize! Looking forward to all things you are covering. And, NO you are and Russell Brand are not alone being terrified about the love fest of Xi and Putin...holy shittttt. The Trump fiasco is beyond ludicrous...does the left actually believe arresting him is a good idea??? How stupid are you? Very sad to hear the state the Jack is rumoured to be in. Gwennie complaining about a camera on her in court is fucking laughable!!! Johnnie rocked that situation like a Boss. Post is so thin but seems to look happy which hopefully, he is!
I think China is trying to keep its economy together and more interested in securing an oil bargain from a dying state. I imagine they’re trying to pressure Putin into wrapping up Ukraine without pissing him off to the point the Russians don’t agree to a really unfavorable trade deal. I’m probably wrong, but I don’t think anyone can financially handle WWIII or risk killing off anymore of the dwindling young population without system collapse, particularly those two countries. China is awful, but if their closest allies, Russia and N Korea, are the sovereign equivalents of Joe Pesci in goodfellas, it’s gotta be tough.
Also, considering China just brokered deals with the Saudis and Iran around oil and moving from the USD to chinas currency makes me think their priority is securing energy or dominating the market. They could also be trying to strengthen their currency and tank the dollar.
There's a much worse love fest going on w both of those people with a other group who's behind our entire world's planned demolition. Both these 2 are owned by this other group. It's all pupeteeerin for the public eye and so much worse than you cam ever imagine what's really being planned. They have planned the extinction for 90% of humanity save a few for their chipped lobotimized slayvez. When you hear them say it in 100s of videos that you have never heard before but when you find sorices that have these videos and yiu hear their machinations looong planned out and looong enacted, you'll never be the same. It's worse than knowing about how they make and drink @dron0chr0me.
PS watch this short new documentary on Britney by the way.
Jack! Jack will be a hard one to see go and in memorandum. Didn't realize his last movie was 2011 though. Just got caught up with estranged daughter who looks more like him than his boys do. Love how the headlines about him are "wish he would come out of the house" like, bitch if I'm 80 something and lived a long bomb ass life let me enjoy the fruits of my labor in peace. I'm old. and live in a mansion. I'm good.
I’m just so shocked more people aren’t team Gwyneth reading through the comments! This dude was 70 and she had 4 instructors with her. Don’t do dangerous stuff in your 70s if you don’t want to accept the risks, duh. Also, she’s worth $200M. I think if she seriously hurt someone, she’d pay the $300k or her personal liability insurance would. Good for her for not being harassed into paying. People need to learn not everyone allows their self to be extorted through the legal system. And I defy anyone to not make a single face when you sit there all day listening to straight up lies. I’ll never understand how attorneys get away with blatant lying while the parties can’t even state the facts.
And he conveniently lost the go pro footage and is bragging about being famous for hitting her. I bet his daughters wanted inheritance money and pushed their dad into the lawsuit. Also, anyone who’s had a concussion knows you literally cannot email and text right afterwards bc your brain is screwy. And broken ribs are a painful injury, but they generally don’t operate on them. Same with concussion, it can be mild or critical, it’s a clinically murky term. He makes his injuries sound bad, but they are clinically kind of vague. Also saying he mentally deteriorated is going to be hard to prove was due to a concussion, when youre now 76. When I was hit, my knee was the most screwed up, which is what she claims her injury was. I don’t buy that she hit him hard enough to break ribs and didn’t cause some knee damage. Concussion, totally possible if he fell right. Also, she weighs 100 lbs and I doubt she was skiing at a velocity so much faster than his that the impact would break bones (not to mention you’re pretty padded from layers of ski gear). I’m a petite person and was skied into by a grown ass man at high speed and was fine.
Has anyone ever had a concussion?? Once I tried to send an email saying I wasn’t coming in to work bc I hit my head the night before. Took me 30 minutes to write ONE sentence. No way I’d be emailing and texting back and forth. Couldn’t even watch TV. Immediately threw up after hitting my head (did he barf?). Stupidly drove myself to the doctor in the city with the most roundabouts in America and it was like solving a calculus problem. Did he ski down himself or have ski patrol take him down?
Great summary as usual. I do think though, that a crime is a crime-- weather it's 130k or 13,000,000. The letter of the law is what puts us all on the same page- what unites us. If there is clear evidence that Trump broke the law, then he should be tried. I know there may be unfortunate repercussions (and I'm not happy about that). But no one should be above the law.
Right, but then we are fine to pick and choose what is persecuted in court, While blatantly overlooking similar crimes? It’s not about breaking law or being indicted for doing so, I think it’s the hypocrisy that is so glaring and will continue to enrage and disillusion people on both sides.
Exactly- Point being- we shouldn't overlook a potential crime, no matter who commits it. Agree- many others haven't been prosecuted when they should have. All this does is weaken the system as a whole.
Adding, and then it becomes,...."Is this a 'bad enough' crime to prosecute?". Who decides what is 'bad enough'? Who decides who should be prosecuted? This is why, in theory anyway, the letter of the law is our best bet.
I get that, but I think once you realize how corrupt the FBI and DOJ is, skepticism is fair. Obviously, there is intense scrutiny on all of Trump's handlings, which is fair except, when you consider the Clintons never ever pay any price for theirs.
Except you're wrong about this, Jessica. HC and the DNC actually DID pay a fine to the FEC for violating campaign finance law. This was settled about a year ago.
I just don't like the false equivalency with respect to the Dems vs Republicans. Not saying that Democrats are squeaky clean. Politics is a dirty business. But, it's been proven over and over that Democrats usually pay a higher price, and are held to a higher standard, than Republicans across the board. A better comparison to the payoff of Stormy Daniels is the John Edwards affair payoff and coverup. He was a huge rising star of the Democrat party and was a favorite to be the Democratic nominee for President. When exposed he was tried in a court of law for nearly exactly what Trump may be charged with. His trial ended up in a hung jury but his reputation and political career were essentially over. While Trump is not a popular as he once was, he is like the nuclear cockroach that just won't die!!
Yeah, I get it. And I find it frustrating AF. But, ignoring another blatant crime perpetuates the issue. Next time, when someone else has broken the law, we'll all be saying, "But wait, y'all didn't prosecute Clinton or Trump, so why are you going after this person so hard?" I am definitely a skeptic! This is why I put my hope (not my complete faith, mind you) in the letter of the law. Because really, it's all we've got.
Laws get broken everyday and most are largely unenforceable. It’s a waste of resources to go after everything. That’s the issue with this, out of all the trump investigations, millions of dollars have been spent, they had tons of manpower, access to the mans entire life, and this is still all they could come up with. I feel the same way about Clinton getting impeached for lying about a blow job. Both of these people have done truly awful things, yet we use all our resources and political capital on BS charges that further undermines the credibility of the justice system.
Trump has been scrutinized SO much. There are tons of things they could charge him with, but it’s all tied into money laundering with other people they don’t want to implicate. This porn star thing and classified documents are really just weak as hell compared to things he could be charged with. Trump is a complete yahoo that lacked awareness in a way where he’d say the things that needed to be said. Unfortunately, he’s also an egomaniac. I think a line should be drawn at inciting the January 6 riots. Trump would have gotten re-elected if he didn’t make everything about himself. Everyone gets tired of name calling after 5 years of it. He’s not even smart enough to be funny. Not only was he a sore loser, he was a stupid loser and left no doubts he was planning shenanigans on January 6. He raised rates at his DC hotel a month in advance of inauguration and teased everyone something big was happening that day. Ive come to appreciate some things about his presidency, but I just can’t listen to his nonsense anymore. I’m also still pissed Ivanka quit making her shoes to go work for him, because they were great!
I don’t actually know this because I haven’t looked anything up, but someone told me at some point that paying someone “hush money” isn’t technically against the law. If that’s true then this is all performative.
It's how it was done, rather than that it was done, and the path of the funds used.
While it does seem like splitting hairs, there might be a case, but would still be hard to prosecute.
Funny how this is framed as something the Democrats are doing, when the decision sits with a grand jury, a random bunch of your fellow citizens.
BTW - I doubt that this long running jury was convened in anticipation of a bank going under and thus the Trump case is a diversion. Why would anyone bother diverting attention from yet another private sector failure with yet another Trump criminal allegation that will probably go nowhere. Who had that crystal ball?
I think the issue was that it was made with campaign funds. And the campaign manager said he unilaterally decided to pay her off. So, idk. I’ve also heard he just didn’t want to get in trouble with melania.
Yep, sort of. He used his own money. Then was reimbursed, with campaign funds. All steps were endorsed by Trump. He job was to fix the problem, pay the money. I don't know that I'd call it unilateral decision making, especially given how many people were involved, and how the deal nearly fell through several times. It was nearly fumbled.
Keep in mind, this is the same man who's already done prison time for taking a hit for Trump. His interest in the wife's feelings would be exactly zero. It's improbable that she was unaware.
I don’t personally think it was a unilateral decision in this case, just what he’s claiming now, correct? I’m sure there are campaign people who do shore things up without telling the candidate, however this was already public. My knowledge of campaign management is based on house of cards though, lol. How was the accounting for the reimbursement? Was it vague like “consulting services” or did they actually put something blatant like “reimbursement for Daniels hush money”?
He was a long time Trump employee, so he wasn't a political lackey several arms length from the candidate. I doubt he'd suddenly become an expert in managing a presidential election campaign. He was there for his boss.
Claire and Francis would have handled things efficiently and without breadcrumbs. 😁
Yeah, I’m def not an expert and only repeated what someone else told me. I think not wanting to get in trouble with your spouse is probably not illegal, and I am for sure no authority in how campaign funds can be used, but I think part of what they are sometimes used for is improving the candidate’s reputation so maybe he or is his campaign thought it would fall under that. I didn’t vote for him and wouldn’t in the future either, so I don’t feel a personal stake in this, but more just wondering “is this ACTUALLY illegal or not?”
Totally with you. Political campaigns aren’t my area of expertise, but I know they dig deep into people’s past and try to shore up anything unflattering. I imagine they can pay people for NDAs? I don’t think they would just pay her without her signing something in writing that says she won’t talk. If not, it’s just dumb to pay someone and assume in good faith they won’t talk? A caveat might be that cooperating with a criminal investigation trumps an NDA.
It was already in the media, even if only alluded to, the timing was right before votes, so I doubt that Melania's feelings had anything to do with it.
I heard a “Lawtube” attorney say on a recent YT video that Trump will become a martyr if the Left continues to go after him. I’m not a fan of Trump, the man, but I did and will vote for him over anyone with a D by their name. He is & will always be the Lefts obsession. It’s funny really. If they would just stop the obsession, media included, he would disappear into obscurity. He’s smarter than them, knows too much (DC & Hollywood secrets) & has the goods on many of them. Remember not that many years ago they were ALL buddies. They are pushing us regular people to the point the next election will be a landslide win for Trump.
Is the difference between the Clinton and Trump payoffs that Trump got caught paying with campaign funds and Clinton didn’t (that I’m aware of)? Genuine question.
Also- I think the “I’m famous” quote was emailed by the man suing GP (email to his kid)- unless I read wrong, which is entirely possible
Sadly this poor man had no idea he was in the presence of Hollywood royalty, If he had, I’m sure he would have retired to a safe distance and respectfully bowed , or doffed his hat ( skiing helmet ) when she came careening down the hill,
Dude, she was a mark. He and his kids thought they could get money out of her. His kids probably pushed him into it. Good for her for refusing to be taken advantage of and holding her head high. It’ll be interesting to see what a jury that consists of skiers and wealthy people think. Even residents who aren’t wealthy live there to ski. They know the difference between accidents and people who are truly reckless. Gwyneth doesn’t come off as a “reckless skier” or reckless person in general. They also know what ski injuries are typically like and it’s very strange he complains about ribs, but not lower extremity injuries. And I’m not convinced he had a concussion if he’s sending emails back and forth with his daughters immediately afterwards either.
27 years in journalism (I say I’m recovering now) and moved to doing my own thing on Substack too - it’s a never ending juicy mountain. But I don’t know that we can ever catch up, because we can do soooo much these days but it all needs a bit of our brain. Kudos
I feel this particular opinion of JessIca’s needs to be earmarked for the future:
“I think everyone involved in politics right now is clincially insane.”
She’s a Scorpio, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and Pluto is making a major transit over the next two years and the Aquarian vibe settles in for the next two decades. I mean, could you imagine if this is an intuition?!
Wait - I thought the skiing doctor said ‘I’m famous’ in an email to his daughters about the incident and GP said to her daughter ‘some a**hole ran into me and he’s really mad’ or some such.

Really interesting info! Pretty much what I suspected, thank you for filling in the blanks 😊
I also don’t think he’d be immediately emailing after a concussion. Your brain is mushy and you generally avoid screens.
The "I'm famous..." quote was by the guy suing GP. It was the subject line (I think) in the email to his daughters.
That’s also what I understood...
Has anyone ever had a concussion?? Once I tried to send an email saying I wasn’t coming in to work bc I hit my head the night before. Took me 30 minutes to write ONE sentence. Clinton paying a fine and the press barely covering what she did is not equal treatment to Trump possibly being arrested and indicted.

Re: Chandra Levy , I think she was Olivia Pope’d. 😳. Someone powerful in DC got her, & her killers will never be found.
Sad to think of Jack Nicholson’s demise. He, Warren Beatty & Bob Evans were THE Hollywood playboy’s of the 70’s & 80’s & they knew it. 😎
I can’t even address the Jack Nicholson part bc my brain literally refuses to believe. NOT MY JACK.
Great stories as usual, but I have to say that when I saw GP in court I thought she was being tried for fraud (goop con).
Sad to hear about Jack Nicholson.
(sorry but there's a typo in the title)
Wait - I thought the skiing doctor said ‘I’m famous’ in an email to his daughters about the incident and GP said to her daughter ‘some a**hole ran into me and he’s really mad’ or some such.
Yes. And emailing after a concussion is very difficult. Interesting his daughters lost the go pro footage...
