Activist jurors and activist investors. A whole lot of madness here.

Bingo. I know you know this better than most.

I’m old enough to remember being put on a jury as an honor and privilege. Such a disgrace society can be these days!

Wow such a flagrant disregard for another human life. Karma is all I’m gonna say.

The scary thing is, it’s truly becoming a trend. These activist jurors with self interests at heart

I keep trying to organize my thoughts for a coherent comment but your article is totally discombobulating. My father was a public defender and was quite good at his job because he truly enjoyed going to trial, and was adept at presenting his argument to the jury. He loved jury selection and the theater of a trial with the jury as an audience of 12. I can’t imagine what his thought would be if he were here today to see this activist juror phenomena. It totally corrupts the legal system. A system that has enough problems of it’s own without jurors perverting it further with their own ideas of what the world should look like and who needs to be punished.

I can’t agree more. It’s a very dangerous trend. A threat to the foundation of our justice system.

I wish your dad was around to share his thoughts on this. It sounds like he truly loved and respected his role in the courts. X

His core principle was that every single human deserves an earnest attempt at representation and a fair trial otherwise we live in a corrupt police state no matter how civilized it looks. I miss his opinion everyday about what is going on in the world.

He would have loved your work! Thoughtful and stylish and totally your own. Thank you so much for this interesting place to read and discuss.

Well I found the article disturbing. My mom was put into a fraudulent and illegal conservatorship the judge is a crook and so is the lawyer conservator. Her little estate of 150k is now 90k as the court helped themselves to her money for payIng 5 monthly bills & 3 annual bills that everyone has. The burn rate was $500.00 per month they charged $900.00 a month to pay her bills which I did 4 free I buried my mom the day b4ore Mother’s Day the cship denial access to her money contributed to her death ☠️ she was 101 and a whole lot of fun the court declared her incapacitated she was evaluated by court physchologist who said she had mild cognizant disorder but judge ruled against her without asking her a single question.

I share this story bc I have been promoting all juries 4 all courts all the time making judges less valuable denying them overturning a jury’s decision. Now with your story I am depressed to learn the deceit of some jurors &self dealing 4 profit .

Cship/gship abuse is rampant & probate court is a racket the world over. The hood judges know who the bad judges and attorneys are but as officers of the court they have done nothing. No confidence in the courts from traffic court to the bc us Supreme Court a disgrace

I have so much to say about this. I sat in on a hearing for Libra Max & several others effected by corrupt conservatorships. I heard the most heartbreaking stories that day. And the courts protect them!

I'm so sorry to read about your mom who you clearly loved and honored. This 'conservator' attorney & judge industry gained traction with the child welfare laws that changed designed by HRC in 97 and before. How to use a judge to 'legally' kidnap any human beings for profit. The industry is so huge, corrupt estate attorneys are used to flag court officers on estates they want. I'll try to find the name of this Florida Doctor / Lawyer who didn't know they could do this and it happened to his own mother. She also died before he could get her released. And she had zero medical or psych issues. He took this on as a personal mission & now helps ppl protect their parents selves & kids from a corrupt 'guardian' or 'conservatorship' via stealth attacks frm corrupt court officers.

What we don't know is the court is a private for profit business listed on Dunn & Bradstreet. It's in someone's name. The building can be & usually is privately owned. There is no common law anymore. No moral law anymore. If I had not personally known an attorney picked to become a superior court judge I wouldn't know what I do. It's all corrupt. All. The only way to win is not play. So being prepared for a sneak attack is the only way to fend off court snipers out looking for easy targets to drain all finances then hook them to the welfare system so they can obtain permanent guardianship.

Juries trials should work, but as Jessica shows in this fantastic article is ppl will lie to get on juries. It's literally just like the book 'The Rainmaker' by John Grisham. Activist juror's & complicit judges & attorneys.

Such a depressing reality if so.

This is the most outstanding interview I've read in, well, ever. Not just for how you uncovered the subversive activist jurors that could be text from a Grisham novel, but how direct , no nonsense questions asked with honest INTENT seems to be your super power.

I may sound a bit over the top, but this open lying without consequence has been without a doubt the most socially destructive action that has pitted parent against child and friend or even spouses. Liars affect all of society.

I do believe, my dear, you've discovered legitimate grounds for an appeal and I really hope he obtains true honest justice with this explosive info.

I have so much more to say but it would end up being clutter, probably. But your work is exceptional and such a rarity anymore in this age of deceptive everything, with clear intent to deceive for personal gain, it's simply a joy to read direct honest reporting with a necessary moral question. Bravo!

When you say you uncovered - does this mean you randomly picked Juror #6 and then uncovered what you have? If so, wow!!!!!!!!!!! I ♥️ all that you do.

So Juror #6 was the most vocal online. I saw her responding on Twitter, which is why I reached out.

Are there any repercussions to the juror??

Why can’t the jury selectors get background (or Google!) checks on these people?

In Australia I’m pretty sure jurors are not allow to be interviewed or make any financial gains from being on the jury yet in America it seems this is okay?

Sounds like a very broken system - jurors should not be loosing any income to be on a jury.

Expand full comment

Right! In the Uk and AU jurors cannot talk to media.

Because the court expects people to be honest. To have honor. Integrity. To not allow personal 'feelings' or political beliefs to destroy another human being. It's a moral tenant and an oath (promise) to the defendant & court you'll stand by your honest answers during questions. Punishable by imprisonment and fine. Our promise is binding w/legal consequence's for deliberately lying. That's why the comments are bursting with outrage!

Oh reallly?? (drolly) The NYT had a doc series as the trial was proceeding? Obvious little vicious lying activist on the jury? Who continually lied to the court as she shit posted on SM during the trial & lied about it??

You're right tho, it wasn't a movie pretending to use jury consultants to stack the jury. It was so much worse. Bc if that female was simply 'randomly' chosen via voter rolls which is where jury selection comes from, it shows civil society is even worse than any movie script could ever write.

Oh and by the way, jury consulting attorneys is a multibillion $ a yr business & business is good. Do you know how they pick an entire democrat leaning jury? If you don't then you are not qualified to have that opinion. And yes I do and no, I won't tell you how they do it. But it happens every day. Which is why the whole thing is a money scam.

Expand full comment

Yes. Jury consultants of course. It’s neither here nor there now... but I think Dr. Phil was a jury consultant. If I recall... that’s how he and Oprah met. It’s completely legal. So... really... trials( not all... I never say all or nothing... you’re dumb if you do... there are always exceptions) come down to who can afford the best attorneys, boatloads of consultants/ experts... and we all know how that plays out... etc. There is no “ justice for all”... so why do we keep saying it? Also... the experts must be able to perform for a jury... obviously. Add in activist jury members, judges... it’s all been this way for decades... if not always. On a different note... many countries have it a lot worse. I think our collective frustration is that we keep pretending this country is something it isn’t. The thought of Trump, DeSantis, Pence, Biden, etc. giving stump speeches... truly... who can take that anymore? Who can watch that nonsense? My friends and family stopped paying much attention... they just work harder... and harder... and harder. More hours, more new”policies”, more access to your life 24/7 from work... there’s no dividing line for many. And it’s absolutely crazy. All of it... just disgusting. JRK is like a breath of fresh air... even if she can’t change anything... she is a refreshing bolt of reality... whether one agrees with her opinion on said topic or not... she calls ‘ em like she sees ‘em. She plays it as it lays. And I’m beyond grateful to her for doing all this work. Love her substack and no... I’m not paid to say it. I’m just a passenger😉

I agree with much of your comment, but not on jury consultants. Dr Phil? No. He is a prop imo. The consultants have access to the penal system to find connections to witnesses or jury members to judges or anyone. Access to private intelligence frm former military generals making millions or billions by using sophisticated data collection perfected in Iraq & Afghanistan and Egypt and and and+ via military contractors who wrote original programs. Think Cambridge Analytica. The consultants are former cia, fbi, military, political attorneys etc who specialize as private jury consultants, for the prosecution! Not defense bc defense can rarely afford their fees.

It depends on the case, if a medical malpractice claim? Doctor/lawyer consultants. Dr. Peter Breggin wrote abt his experiences as a expert witness as well as jury consultants. No one wld expect Peter theil's palenteir to be so valuable for jury selection. The depth of corruption is beyond the pale. And if the gov needs to get a guilty v , no expense is spared. It's a racket and unless defense really seeks honest jurors thru Voir dire he's setting up his own client. I won't go into how they all get paid after the trial but it's scandalous.

NY, DC, CN etc legal system inc judicial, all know each other and usually went to school together. Their kids play together, dinner parties, sleep overs & vacations. It's really a bunch of small groups who all know each other or know of a way to contact anyone they need.
