Rogan and JD discussed this last week!!! Make Men Manly Again!

Expand full comment

I refuse to believe anyone thinks any of these men are even remotely manly. Rich whiny Daddy's boy and Anti vaccine crazy are the epitome of beta males.

Speaking as a woman- they are very manly. And I bet they hold the door for everyone, say please and thank you and appreciate intelligent, independent women. It seems both have strong, independent women, wives, girlfriends, and daughters in their lives.

Men and women are meant to compliment each other, not compete. Sadly the state of society today I see many weak men. I’ve tried to raise my son to be chivalrous and gentlemanly. These men born into money didn’t ask to be. They’ve carved interesting lives for themselves and many accomplishments - neither of which was due to being born rich. Anti-vaccine? I think being a critical thinker and questioning what’s ethical, what’s in these jabs we give our babies is extremely sensible.

They aren’t for tampons in boys restrooms like Tim Walz.

Super manly. 😘

That’s funny cause the men I know who I consider the most manly absolutely support the party that can define men and women and like both RFJ jr and Don Jr and are voting for Trump. They would never consider being part of a party that elevates men who pretend to be women “Rachel Levine”.

Joshua - Factually speaking, neither Rogan or Vance grew up with their bio dads in their life & they definitely did NOT grow up rich. Can you explain what you mean by rich whiny Daddy’s boy in this scenario?

I love it all! Especially Hayes in the midst of feathers and foxy 501’s lol ❤️❤️❤️

Who knew this piece would bring all the hate to the yard? Good grief.

Jessica great portrayal of the falconry event. Hayes is learning so much! Things school would never teach him. The photos tell the story. The sequence of Hayes and the falcon! The unsure little arm at first, then the excitement and success of it landing and staying on his arm. What a trust building experience.

All of that is fine and I agree good. What is not good is this call for a “return to masculinity” and the insinuation that the left is somehow fostering an environment for weak men. What the left does is respect people’s right to be who they are. The reality is that some men are not traditionally masculine. What are you asking of them? To change who they are? Honest question.

The left doesn't respect my right to NOT be vaccinated, or my right to free speech, or keep the country safe, or my right to be healthy from viruses that have been manufactured by someone that is in a position of "trust".

She not asking anyone to be anything! She’s the mother of 4 sons. Stop acting like she’s the leader of the free world! Everyone has their right to an opinion.

The left would have us muzzled and living in fear. The right defends your right to voice your opinion and for me to disagree with it!

Love this story. Hayes' smile and "commentary"- "look, he got something", is priceless. He got to hold an owl!! How fun it is to share this experience with us. Maybe it is my age, but I love a rugged, Levi clad masculine man.

Jim Gaffigan's joke is the best--"I used to think the Democrats were crazy for saying that men have periods, but then I met Tim Walz." The way the Trump campaign has used IG stories has been really clever. And yes, let's Make America Masculine Again! Please! sabrinalabow.substack.com

I’ve been seriously hurt by plenty of stupid men, but hating on masculinity isn’t really the answer. It just causes the opposite problem. I went through a period of being scared/hateful towards men and it was pointless. Trauma is meant to be transmuted, not projected.

Male strength is awesome, and I love to see it used this way—communing with amazing birds, guiding Hayes with a hand on the shoulder. Beautiful.

I love this! It makes me tearful. I pray we can celebrate a win on Tuesday and a hope to return to the values and common sense America was founded on. We need rugged, strong masculine men. Without them, our civilization is done. Thank you for sharing this story and for bringing these families to life for us. We are living vicariously.

As a woman who is actively being stalked and harassed by these “masculine” men because I hold an opinion that is contradictory to theirs, I’m sorry, but this brand of enemotive brand of pseudo-masculinity that makes men front as men who does not respect women is going down. The sick king will fall. I have seen it and I believe it, and LOVE will win because it must. There is no love in the behaviors of people who feel validated by an equally fearful politician—who would throw his supporters over in a heartbeat if it served him—to stalk and harass a widowed mother of three simply for writing about how to escape narcissistic abuse, find your soul purpose, and live with authority. As we say in the South—bless their hearts. Last night, I was confronted with intention by another one of the people in this cohort of Gone Girl stalkers (to their credit—they’re smart. Pity they don’t use it for good. Jail isn’t a great place to be smart.), and he is engaged I found out. He tried to feel me up. I shut him down very kindly, but he is engaged. This is your Republican “masculine” man in the American South. Maybe elsewhere, it’s different, but I have no interest in being someone’s trophy, which is what they want. Be pretty. Shut up. Do what I say or else. It’s all about control. Your writing is very good. As an editor and a publisher, your writing is good, but without equal rise of the divine feminine, the patriarchy will destroy the country with their facade of “masculinity.” I’m done with constructs, conditioning, fear, lack mindset, and all of the other things that plague the Republican Party, which I’ll own—I used to vote for. Not this time. I’m voting for love. But I accept and am peaceful toward whatever the outcome of this V for Vendetta election cycle because I pray love will win, and I do not assume to know what that means, but I do know based on experience how I am directing my vote. Be blessed, and please do not take my comments as anything that’s more than an impassioned opening for discourse if you’re interested. You’re sensible and you’re articulate. Like I said—I used to vote conservatively, but losing my husband and becoming a widowed mother in this country with these “men” has changed me completely. I’m voting straight my last initial for the first time in my life, and I’m thrilled.

The party that wants abortions up until birth, men in women’s spaces and sports, and gender mutilation on minors without parental consent. Your vote hurts women.

Expand full comment

No one wants abortion up to birth, or to mutilate minors without parental consent you are letting yourself be suckered by propaganda rather than truth. We do want true freedom, which means you're free to be who you are and want to be without persecutions including taking consensual advantage of modern medical technology.

6 states have no limits on abortion, including New York.

If the baby is a viable, living being then it's not an abortion, it's murder.

Medical science says that a baby can be viable somewhere between 20-25 weeks.

The only reason for a late term abortion is the horror of the death of baby whilst in the womb that threatens mother life.

Expand full comment

In Minnesota they do not try to keep an aborted baby alive. They used to have to record a botched abortion, but Tim Walz removed that requirement. If you don’t believe me go to Minnesota gov site and look up abortion requirements. It’s right there. Stop saying states don’t allow full term abortions. There are those who do.

Tell me how men who want to “protect children” will literally try to run a widowed mother off the road because he doesn’t like her opinion. Explain it. Because I see control. I don’t see a singly flying f—k given for the children. Sorry, but my experience speaks louder than your words. I AM voting for the good of children and women. Not the economy. Not my fear. Not security or fear and rhetoric. I am finally being brave. But thank you for suggesting I was misguided. I have my guidance, and you’re welcome to disagree, but you may not tell me that I am wrong. You are right for you, and I am right for me. That’s all. I said how I felt and why. Don’t take it personally, please.

Expand full comment

Being brave is one thing. You have a stalker. He is one man. To base your vote on that one man’s behavior is short-sighted at best. If that man were someone in the running it would be different, maybe I missed it and he is.

Expand full comment

I’ll add the man who is in the running on the forefront of molesting women and controlling women has never-to my knowledge—publicly atoned or apologized for suggesting men grab them by the p*ssies. Never has he said, “I was very, very wrong, and we should NOT treat women that way.” Instead I hear him talking about putting a woman who is challenging to him “in front of a firing” squad. I actually find that candidate and what he encourages and represents to be more deplorable than the cowardice of a series of stalkers who admire him, who allege to be Christians and who by admission of one of the family members of one of the men who tried to run me off the road and then literally chased me in his truck—that he thinks he’s a Christian, is a major narcissist with road rage, hearts the Republican candidate, and is verbally abusive to his wife and child. Oh yes, major family values being extolled there. So, it actually is a perfectly reasonable thing to make the choices of who I vote for based not only on my views of right and wrong but also on how his supporters behave. I know it’s not all of them, but he needs to get that on lock because he’s losing educated women in droves at this point. Like, the odds are circling the bowl, and I hope the women who are all but told how to vote make their own minds up in the polls. They don’t have to tell anyone who they voted for. Just vote with your heart, your instinct, your knowing, your truth. Mine says to vote the way it does, and I have to vote with that just like you vote for your own reasons. I hope like me you pray that regardless of the outcome LOVE and not oppression or control in any form will be able to push through. No control for how other people live. That’s a hill I will defend with everything I have. My daughters will NOT be told how to use their body nor will they be told that they can’t be helped in a stalking situation by police because I’m going to advocate to change laws to ensure that verbal and emotional abuse are as illegal as physical. Let them go to jail and be unmasked. I bet things will change. If you can’t respect other people, maybe you’ll respect the law. This is for everyone who will become a victim of abuse and for my daughters—they deserve the legal support to shut down criminal behavior and to excise abusers with the support of the law.

“He” is multiple people. It’s a concerted effort among people who have a shared fear-driven belief that they will lose control if things don’t line up based on their ideological beliefs. They can’t fathom a world where things they were raised to believe were true are, in fact, oppressive constructs stemming from modalities of religious control instituted by people in power loathe to give it up. So, no, I am based my vote on 5 years’ experience as a widowed mother of three. Of conservative men coming onto me within weeks and months of my husband’s death under the guise of wanting to “help.” It’s sick. Every man I’ve dealt with who has behaved selfishly and in his own interests leading up to a multi-party stalker situation has informed my vote. Respectfully, what informs yours? What your parents taught you? What your husband thinks? What you learned in a denomination in a church? What experience informs your vote? I shared mine. What’s yours?

Sorry, that you have had a bad experience with men. I believe that there are good and bad men and women in this world. Assigning ALL men and ALL women to one party or the other is ridiculous.

I’ll add that I don’t do black and white thinking or “all” men. I had a great husband. He was a wonderful man who respected me and who I respected and still do respect. I am basing my VOTE for this election on my experience, but by no means do I categorize “all” men or “all” women. For example, I am a sensible, intelligent, responsible woman who has experienced a lot. I don’t assume all women know where I’m coming from.

I had a great experience with my emotive, Air Force, drummer husband who loved guns and cars and who respected the f—k out of me and women. I had less of one with a weak-minded firefighter after my husband died who just wanted to control me. Sorry, but it’s not all men—it’s SOME of a very similar and pitiful ideology.

"Love will win" wasn't that the slogan for gay marriage? Isn't that legal in all 50 states, what are we repurposing this slogan for now?

Expand full comment

Also, why does it matter if the slogan was used to promote gay marriage? The tone of your comment suggests you’re feeling critical about the slogan and what it represents? Maybe I’m not understanding, but why does that matter, and why is it is negative, as your tone suggests. Is there something undesirable about gay people having equal rights? About love winning?

Expand full comment

Love conquers all in Biblical terms. It’s not a slogan—it’s a belief, a value system. I truly believe love wins over judgment, control, fear, lack-mindedness, self-delusion, narcissism, and all of the other evils I see perpetuated by far too many in society. Thankfully, I’ve encountered more who respect other people’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences and who have the esteem and awareness that control is how we ended up here. If we love everyone enough to respect them, if we care about their feelings and experiences, we can change. That is love, and that wins. I have faith, and I’m thankful to know the gospel truth—LOVE wins. Always. 💛🙏

I don’t find trophy hunting of endangered animals as something worthy of reclaiming as part of any human identity - male or female. I know the republican supported NRA creates its own convenient narrative to justify it. The facts show otherwise. This is a puff piece that at least in some part glamorizes Don Jr’s murder of innocent animals as “outdoorsmanship”.. it’s been obvious for some time that you’ve clearly drunk so much of this male Kool-aid within the camps you’re spending time in that I don’t expect you to evolve out of it. I just felt the need to respond - which helps your algorithm. So you’re welcome. But I’m tuning out going forward.

Falconry is not hunting. It is an old world outdoor sport that involves interacting with birds of prey. What made you think they were hunting? There aren’t any guns or reflective gear, etc

What does a 12 year old gossip headline from the Daily Mail have to do with this post? The topic is falconry. There are zero guns in any of these pictures. Zero hunting going on. If you are upset about a 12 year old piece of tabloid gossip, fine. But it is completely unrelated to ~falconry~ which does not involve any hunting unless the bird itself is catching something. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Why can't we have both? Why does it have to be one or the other? Can't we allow men to exist where they want on a spectrum of "masculinity"?

Absolutely, providing their form of masculinity is not at the detriment of women.

Expand full comment

💯💯💯 absolutely. I was speaking toward her condemnation of "weak men" the left supposedly bolsters, in her opinion. I personally see no lack of the "masculinity" she claims is being "eroded." Lol. But my point was more that men should be allowed to exist on the other end of the spectrum as well (less masculine). Or somewhere in the middle. She paints it so black and white. Additonally, I don't see anyone wanting to take away "masculinity", but rather give young boys permission to have emotions and be allowed to experience sensitivity, which is not often associated with the "rugged masculinity" she's promoting.

If this doesn’t epitomize myopic, fear-based thinking, I’m not sure what does. People expressing who they are, wearing what they like to wear, embodying their full identity should not be seen as a threat to traditional masculinity. If it is taken that way, it likely says more about you than them. Levi’s and LL Bean puffers on a handsome rugged dude are objectively cute, but don’t say anything about a person’s integrity. Getting back to “traditional masculinity” - I mean how does one do that exactly? You are by default casting out folks who don’t conform to your ideas. Whatever you’d like to say about gender politics aside, the MAGA right is the weaker party when it comes to this subject because they want to oppress others. The Left isn’t looking to tell folks what to wear or how to act to make themselves feel more secure. This take on culture is patriarchal, misogynistic, and frankly fucking appalling. You do you, but save your judgments. There but for the grace of god Jessica.
